I wish I had more photos of grandma to post.
but maybe i'll just reveal the most memorable things to me about my grandmother.
1) Her smell...when I first put her sweater that my dad had brought back from canada up to my face and smelled I couldn't help tear up. A person's smell effects us more than I think we realize. I was overwhelmed with just...grandma. Tons and tons of memories came at me. I felt like I was standing in a narrow hallway and water was coming at me with great force and speed.
2) Her laugh and speech patterns
3) Her singing and story telling. Especially her story of meeting Frank Sinatra. This story blew my mind when I first heard it at the age of ten or so, partially because I was obsessed with Frank Sinatra at the time...

what a great little memory ... i teared up just reading it ... i know she had a fragrance ... i think it was este lauder youth dew mixed in with jacquie ... she was so warm and full of love for us. She was always trying to get to essence of who we were ... she cared a helluva alot.
It's so very true. No one had that distinctive scent but Jacquie.
She always smelt so good.
It was Youth Dew. It was just her.
She never got old and stayed young in spirit all of her life.
